How Do you Soak Onions In Salt water?

To desalt onions, slice them thinly and sprinkle them generously with salt. Place the onions in a colander or strainer and let them sit for at least 30 minutes, or up to an hour.

The salt will draw out the onion's moisture, reducing its pungency.

Once the onions have soaked for the desired amount of time, rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to remove the excess salt.

Drain the onions well before using them in your recipe.

Desalted onions can be used in a variety of dishes, including salads, sandwiches, and stir-fries. They are also a great addition to salsas, guacamole, and pico de gallo.
