For AI Centres and Bit Coin Mining Government Allocates 2000 MW

Pakistan is making history by committing 2,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity to power Bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence (AI) data centres as part of a first-time national initiative. The country aims to become recognised globally for digital innovation by giving 2,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity for Bitcoin and AI data centres in the first phase of its national plan. Pakistan’s government wants to attract foreign investments and plans to legalise cryptocurrency. In March, the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) was formed to help regulate and add blockchain and cryptocurrency to the country’s financial sector. The federal minister asked entrepreneu r Bilal Bin Saqib to serve as the council’s chief financial adviser.
